Advice Requested...
Hey Everyone...Sorry I didn't post anything yesterday, but I was busy having a conversation with my inner-child about the effects and consequences of overdosing on Pixie Stix. I think he finally understood that he's now grounded because he put me into a near sugar coma...I'm not really sure though. After all his parting words as I closed the door to his room behind me were something like "Good thing I don't REALLY have super-powers and they wanted too much for the iridium 235...".This simple parting statement made my blood run cold...it sounded like he has been plotting a hostile takeover and put some serious thought into the possible ways to make the coo happen. Obviously, as a little boy, his mind went to the super-powers of his favorite comic heroes as a possible means of seizing control...but when he realized that he didn't really have powers, he switched to the use of current weaponry. Unfortunately, his little mind went right to WMD and to be honest - he just doesn't have that kind of cash on hand (I keep him on a very tight allowance).
So now I'm faced with a dilemma. I know that my inner-child is plotting a coo and I can't keep him locked up forever (life is just too boring without him rampaging through my skull). I don't want to do anything drastic to him, but I need him to know that this administration is not going to sit by idly by while he tries to take control.
You guys always offer a lot of really great advice...so I'm asking - How do you punish an inner-child for treason without turning yourself into a stick-in-the-mud?
